Throughout its history the FGCMD has played an important role in keeping Maryland roadsides clear of billboards, preserving and placing Blue Star Memorial markers on highways in honor of military service personnel, and partnering with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in plantings to protect critical watershed areas. Individual members and clubs have the opportunity to participate in many educational opportunities in Floral Design, Horticulture, Garden Study, Conservation and Environmental Concerns. The FGCMD District III has been committed to beautifying the grounds and gardens of Hampton for over 60 years.
The mission of the Friends of Fort McHenry, in partnership with the National Park Service, is to support the development and implementation of educational programming and living history activities, and the creation of interpretive exhibits and visitor facilities that best engender the widest possible understanding and appreciation of Fort McHenry and the enduring legacy and promise of “The Star-Spangled Banner”, our National Anthem. The Friends achieve this mission through generous support provided by individuals, businesses, and foundations who value our heritage and the impact that history can have upon our young people.

Whose broad stripes and bright stars . . . were so gallantly streaming! over the star-shaped Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore, September 13-14, 1814. Northern Baltimore County Art Foundation (NBCAF) was established in 2006. An all-volunteer organization, NBCAF promotes art awareness and education in Northern Baltimore County and supports an art scholarship program for area high school students.
Mr. Moscatt, known for his portrait and figure painting, has also painted landscapes throughout his career. He brings the same enthusiasm and energy to landscape that he does to his figure work, and has recently completed a series of paintings based on the grandeur of the Hampton Mansion, focusing on its imposing architecture and rich cultural landscape. We are proud to have Mr. Moscatt serve as Hampton’s first Artist in Residence for 2015-2016!

Since 1953, the Women’s Committee of HHI has stimulated interest in and support for Hampton National Historic Site.
