Since 1979, Historic Hampton, Inc. (HHI) has served as the philanthropic partner with the National Park Service (NPS) at Hampton National Historic Site (HNHS).

Our participation and support have preserved and protected a historically valuable property and its contents, and have supported NPS programs at the site. We provide financial support through annual giving, grants, and community donations.

Our volunteer corps is broad in number and interests: architecture, horticulture, antique furniture, artwork and china collections, archives of photographs, diaries, letters, and more. Hampton has much to offer our visitors.

Even a short visit can be a memorable one!  Visitors are free to explore the 62.4 acre park that is home to several state champion trees, a falling garden, dozens of historic structures, and various birds and other wildlife.

Visiting Hampton National Historic Site is a great way to spend a morning, afternoon, or the entire day.  The scenic grounds and gardens are open daily for visitors to enjoy at their own pace, even on holidays when the parking lots and visitor center may otherwise be closed.

Guided Mansion tours and special programs, events, and tours are offered, so be sure to check the NPS website (links below) as you plan your visit. We have so much to see and do that we encourage visitors to return, and return often.  We recommend that you plan to spend at least 2 hours on site, but you are more than welcome to stay longer.

Hampton National Historic Site is open year round, with the exception of some federal holidays. Hampton is a fee-free park.

The interior of the Mansion is only accessible by joining a guided tour.
